Dairy Cow Wellbeing & Productivity

Some cows doing cow stuff

Recent studies have shown that Mastitis & Lameness in dairy cows adversely affects milk
production and reproductive performance leading to an increased likelihood of culling at the
end of the season.

Treatment with anti-inflammatories alongside standard therapy can help to relieve the
inflammation and pain associated with both of these conditions, resulting in:

  • Increased milk yields after healing:
  • lower SCC and higher bacteriological cure rate,
  • Improved Reproductive performance via higher conception rates,
  • reduced risk of culling
  • and fewer inseminations per conception.
  • Current evidence certainly indicates that anti-inflammatories improve animal welfare and
minimise the longer-term negative economic impacts due to mastitis and lameness.
